That is a prime example of the mind winning the race....I remember years ago in a motorcycle race in which I was a participant...I was racing on Ice in Colorado....I took a fall coming out of a turn as I was moving to take the lead....I got up and was so pissed off at myself.....determined, I was able to regain second place only feet from the leader by the time we crossed the finish line. Had a similar incident racing Pikes Peak one year.....Went from last place after a mechanical problem to fifth place by the time I reached the summit.
