So what have you done about it?
I am speaking specifically about the posts that jwilliams0469 and Adirondack Hiker and who knows who else, have had leveled at them.
I believe these kind of posts are unwarranted and something should be done about it. So I did. I notified Admn of the problem via PM. I told him the posts I was talking about by titles and times and named names. I also told him that the two that had received the posts were two of the most knowledgeable people on the forum who enjoyed helping people like me, complete and total novices, with some of the most basic questions.
I know there are many, many more on this site that like to help but as far as know they haven't been shot at.
When someone like Adirondack Hiker says that he is ready to pack it in, then I think its time to do something about it,

I'm not in the "controversy loop" so I can't offer an opinion.

I can only give you one: Dumb question needs computer savvy answer
Just highlight that and bring it to search and on about page four it gets bad. That's the only one I can give you but right after this 'lindylouwho' got a really bad one. She was even called at home by the jerk! Adirondack Runner has either left the forum or he is still considering it. I can't think of any others right now. Admn is helping lindylouwho' if she wants to bring charges.
It looks like things have settled down a little. No one has said anything to me
But like its been pointed out we have a lot of members now and we are bound to have some jerks mixed in.
Someone saying something bad to me just washes right off, my years as a policeman has given me a pretty touch skin but these others shouldn't have to deal with it.
Maybe I went a little too far but I was upset for those other people.

Just read it. Amazing how a question and asking for help could turn to that. Notice that the person who started all the fireworks had hardly any posts? Some people lurk in forums to try to start trouble during the most innocent discussions. It's a shame it happens but it does. If people get really upset at such "trolls" they should simply ignore them.

That's what I do, just ignore them. But the people that have left the forum because of it are very knowledgeable people who will help novices like me. Hurts

I am glad to hear that he didn't leave. There isn't very many people that know photography as well and are willing to share it with novices like me. I could start naming names but I am sure that I would leave one or two out and that would be an insult to them and I wouldn't want to do that. But the knowledgeable photographers that I'm referring to know who they are so I won't make that mistake.
I'm still p/o at the trolls but we have done what we can do. But they live just down the street so what can we do?
