We are going to Calgary for our honeymoon. We do not have a lot of money at the moment. Weddings are expensive as I'm finding out. :!: Does anyone have any suggestions for thing we can see and do while we are there June 7-11? She loves animals and the zoo is a must see. What other things can we do? We will have a car. Any and all thoughts are welcome.

You should be getting some cash from your wedding, but don't depend on that. If you do, take SOME of the money for your honeymoon, and put the rest in an investment.

Oh yeah. We are doing the best to live within our means. But on a honeymoon you want to do the best for her. Thank you.

There is lots of pretty countryside and if I recall, the Canadian Rockies are not far away.

Drumheller is an interesting place with the Hoodoos and the Royal Tyrrell Museum. Be a nice drive from Calgary.

Head west to the Rockies. They're pretty close - you can see them from Calgary if the air is relatively clear. Take a coat, as evenings and nights can get quite cold. Don't forget your camera!

Don't miss Lake Louise. Could you splurge for a couple of nights at the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel or the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise? Since you're there you might as well!!

The drive from Banff to Jasper is one of the most scenic and beautiful experiences you will ever encounter. We have driven it 3 different occasions.

Thank you all for your replies. I will include as much as possible in our trip. I have seen other people pose such questions so I did too. I hope I can return the favour to someone someday. Thank you.
