At the beginning of the month my Google Chrome new page changed. What I mean by that I used to get a page with my theme picture and icons for my most used sites now all I get is a blank white page with a search bar. The info says it is www.trovigio.com and that I first visited the site on May 1. Do any of you know how to remove this and return to my usual site? Thank you for your help.

From http://support.google.com/chrome/answer/95314?hl=en

Follow these steps to adjust your homepage settings:

1. Click the Chrome menu on the browser toolbar.

2. Select Settings.

- Add the home button to the browser toolbar
Homepage button is off by default. Select the "Show Home button" checkbox in the "Appearance" section to show it on the browser toolbar.

-vSet your homepage
When the "Show Home button" checkbox is selected, a web address appears below it. If you want the Homepage button to open up a different webpage, click Change to enter a link. You can also choose the New Tab page as your homepage.

this is the page I get no matter what changes I made

If you have window 7, go to start, at the bottom you will see search, type in 'msconfig', no quotes, at the top click on the tab that says 'Start Up'. Look through the list and uncheck everything with 'trovigio' in it. Do not uncheck anything else, be careful. Then close the program and all should be well. Good luck. Keep us informed.

Trovigio was not listed. I also tried to find it in my Add/remove programs wasn't there. Any other ideas? earlier I did a websearch for it and couldn't find it. Also I am unable to use my main search bar on top when this new tab page is open.

Notice where you have https://accounts.google.com
It should be https://www.google.com

This is really a pain for Chrome. IE and Firefox cleared easy enough. but chrome is turning out to be real tough. I'll have to spend the day on it tomorrow. Thanks again for the help. Calling it a night

Be sure to update, or install, your virus and malware scanners too.

My IE got corrupted somehow - switched to Chrome. Changed the "home page" several times but it always went back to the blank page with the search bar and an ad to update Windows Drivers. When I woke up to the fact that the only use I have of that page is to find something else, I quit fooling with it.

Don't know if this will help but......I had a problem with weatherbug all of a sudden throwing up ads whenever I went on line. I search thru everything but couldn't find a way to stop it. Finally I ran the maleware/spyware program, then my anti virus (avast) program. And problem solved. Give it a shot.
As a side note - if you run into a problem where your computer doesn't work right after you run these and clean your systems, just reboot and hit f11 as soon as your monitor shows anything - that lets you recover. Just back date a few days and all will be well again.

Download AdwCleaner, a free program at: https://toolslib.net/downloads/viewdownload/1-adwcleaner/ to your Desk Top.

Dble left click to open the program.
This is not a permanent install, it uninstalls when you are finished.

Click Scanner to search your computer.

When done, click on each tab to see what malware or listing it has found. and click in each box for malware removal.
If you choose to keep or are unsure about a file, uncheck its box.

The last tab to the right (after FireFox) is for Chrome.

Click "Clean" and reboot.

You may have to go back into Chrome's settings to re-set the "On Start-up" New Tab Page and "Search" to Google.
