I disagree with this. When ever I take a picture I study my subject. I see more around me than others who have no interest in photographic or even painting. We see how light falls on our subject and the texture of simple objects. Color/colour is everywhere and shapes and shadows. When we take a picture we seem to use all our senses. Maybe this is why we enjoy capturing the world around us, we see more than just a pretty flower. We see what makes a flower. I remember what I see.
