When eyes talk to a camera, what are they saying? I hope these speak to you in a delightful fashion. Enjoy.

Don't leave
Don't leave...

Detained...in a dream
Detained...in a dream...

I'm sure of it
I'm sure of it...

I see it in your eyes
I see it in your eyes...

Her skin tone and her eyes are absolutely beautiful! How did you make her skin so smooth and silky? The first two photos are my favorites. I am not a big fan of vignetting but if you are going to stay with it, perhaps not so heavy? They are all good photos.

I use linear gradient, then a little vignetting. The darkness is done purposely. The scriptures speak of, "a light shinning in a dark place". Thus, my goal was to produce a dramatic effect of light and beauty breaking through darkness. ***Should your model require it, smart blur (clear skin) and/or noise reduction (clear skin) can help.
Lastly, thanks for your advice and compliments. I'm a nonexpert in love with the arts of photography and drama. You may also appreciate one of my works entitled..., "Now, is the time". I will post that shortly. I'm here to learn and grow.ttyl:-)

I personally think you have smoothed the skin a little too much, it has no texture left and looks "plastic" I do like the images, they are nicely done. I just would pull back on the PP of the skin.

Roger that MWAC! I'm just dipping my feet in the water. "Pose Orchechestrating" is more of my forte but I want to explore as much as possible. I'm sure that by the time you "pros" are done with me I'll be backstroking in the deep end. Thanks for your friendly advice/critique.

While all are good, I think #1 is phenominal! A sense of mystery and the eyes are really intriguing. I'm not a prtrait photographer but I really appreciate these.

I agree with MWAC. The style and technique are excellent, but I think we need at least something to remind us the model is human, and not absolutely perfect...we could relate to that!

That's exactly what I keep trying to convince the beautiful women in hollywood of - Lol. In all seriousness Danilo, I got the point in MWAC's "plastic" post as did everyone else who viewed. Thank you for taking out the time to view and certainly to post. I did have dubiety regarding the skin, unfortunately, I was already in love....some can relate to that. I'm not opposed to critique but I am looking for "different" areas, in which I can improve rather than be discouraged from posting as I make adjustments and/or advancement.

Lastly, thank you most graciously for your compliment. Btw, I love your avatar! :D

As far as improvements?

I'd say that sharpness of the eyes is lacking...but my monitor is not the greatest either so....

The lighting is a "small" bit flat too...not QUITE enough tonal range in my opinion...(specifically on her face)that could be improved too with more directional lighting; snooted or whatever.

Also the hands (this could be my crappy monitor) but the hands don't seem to match the face...i.e. the face is very very idealized but the hands seem to be normal hands with all their flaws..like I said...not sure..my monitor could be off.

Those are my suggestions for improvements.

Pretty much what everyone else said.

My only addition is that in #3 the lips seem to be in focus while the eyes are slightly out of focus.

Hello RN and thank you for viewing my post. :-D I am intrinsicly drawn to many of the natural wonders and beauties of creation which surround us, consequently wish to freeze them in the capsule of my camera. I've captured alluring sunrises, mystical fogs surrounding skyscrapers, curious and meticulously designed insects imbibing nectar from the plants in my intoxicating flower garden as they unwittingly transfer pollen, leaves of a tree tickled by the breeze. . . . . So why don't I post these frozen moments? My current camera!! :hunf: I personally am not comfortable posting anything photographically undernourished next to these photographically obese pros! lol - I'm currently saving for a real camera, then I'll be on my way. The portraits are done with a lower grade Nikon. I'm convinced they will become "more" visually confident upon my purchase and education on the use of light. ;-) Enjoy your weekend

Thanks for your detailed oriented observations as well as your "gentle approach critique". I really like that it allows me to focus on constructivity rather than affront. Switching gears, I noticed the hands as well, however, was trying to make the face/expression/eyes and the dramatized setting of the pic (minus the hands) the focal point. Re: the eyes, they appear the same in other shots not posted and w/o PP. Not sure if it's the lighting or not but I will learn the dynamics of consistently ensuring the eccentuating of the eyes.

What I learned thus far with the help of your post and others is: leave no stone unturned and turn them delicately.

Once again Rpavich, thank you! If your monitor really is that crappy then respectfully, I hope you will be in the market for a new one soon. Otherwise, you will miss out greatly, on much of the excellent work such as I've witnessed on this site.

Fondly,

Fee
