Saw this display in Amsterdam. Must be for special occasions only. Did not see a price.

Beautiful design but OUch. I used to wear the wooden clogs in the 70's.

Thank you for sharing, that is a great idea, I will make a pair of these ( still have a pair of wooden Clogs around). I'm always looking for new ideas and this is one . I do this sort of thing (another hobby of mine).

When you finish show us the design. I imagine that would be a great project.

I can't imagine wearing a pair of those. How long did it take to toughen your feet?

I cannot imagine having the patience or the steady hands to do something like this. Best of luck.

Yes when I'm done I will show some pics. Here is a couple, one is of an egg (not finished), it is an ostrich egg, the other is a rifle (22) I've been working on, but have to get home to my computer to find some more pics of that one (some close-ups) of the design, in this shot you don't see a whole lot, but might get an idea.

Sorry, for some reason the gun stock did not show, so I will have to try again! I think I have to "re-save" that picture, everytime I go into bridge and check if it is there ( in a certain folder), it is, but when I go to browse (from within UHH) and go to that folder it does not show.

So, here it is finally, as I said in this picture you don't see a lot but a glimpse. It is just something I like to do in my spare time (if I have time for it). And usually I don't find much time for it, but would like to spend more time on that!

You are amazing! I have confidence that you will put that Amsterdam Carver to shame. Just between you and me have you ever engraved any hundred dollar bill plates? Our secret promise!

Many years (nay, decades) ago, my sister-in-law visited the Netherlands and brought back "Wedding Clogs." They were as elaborately carved as these.

So, I would say: yes special occasion.

Really intricate design and carving. Good shot.
One of the UHH members is from Holland. Hopefully he will see this and possibly explain its purpose.

Very pretty but it makes my feet hurt just thinking about wearing them.
