Please comment on your favorite photographers at UHH here on this thread. Tell us what impresses you about a particular photographer, and leave a link so we can go see his/her work. I would suggest that you create a different comment for each photographer that you mention instead of listing a bunch. People will tend to read the one photographer comments more than a whole list.

I will add some if this gets going, but I'd like to leave it open for now.

Mine too. Here are a couple of his shots. The first one is one of his best ones, the second one is my favorite.

My favorite is Russ Elkins because of his brilliant technique using b&w. When on other websites I have directed others to his website.

I also love Graham Smith. I have a bit of a game I play each day. I look at the title heading and decide which ones are from Graham before looking at the post. I am right about 70%. I like Graham because his pics cover such a broad range.

No, seahorsey, I started a new thread here that is more inclusive than the one JCS65 started. I hope you will post your thoughts here. :-)

Well, I didn't mean for this to be a vote for the best one ... I would like to see many good photographers recognized.

This is a hard one. I seldom like everything that any one photographer does.
Though he seldom if ever posts on this section one of my favorites is Ace-mt for his amazing rodeo shots.

and of course Graham, Pale pictures, Mt Shooter, Swamp Gator and the list goes on.

Wow! He does have some great shots ... and that's a tough venue to photograph. Thanks, CM. I have never noticed him before. :-)

My favourite photographer wouldn't have to be technically a perfectionist. When I check out somebody's work, I start off by standing well back to get an impression, preferably from as detached a viewpoint as possible. Only occasionally do I get an urge to zoom in and scrutinise the details.

There's no shortage of excellent photographers here on UHH, and one of the things that has led me forward is the desire to some day be as good as what I've seen here and elsewhere (it's OK - I've got lots of patience  ).

Graham's had several well-deserved mentions, and he's a very well-rounded photographer. Of the others that spring to mind, I like Travesty's work, probably because he's obviously worked hard to develop a look that he's decided he likes (and so do I), and he's led by his artistic instincts, rather than by an obsession to achieve technical perfection.

You're welcome. I suspect that when you step outside of the world of professional photography, there's no shortage of people who can be very accommodating when it comes to technical imperfections (especially in their own photography lol).
