The background that this bag sits on is a white translucent piece of plastic. I've used 4 lights: one behind to shine through the plastic, two side lights and a on-camera flash. How can I get the background White? All suggestions appreciated! The gray boxes were intentional to block out the company name.

You can make a black background white if you throw enough light onto it; therefore you need more light on the background to make it white. But, in doing so you need to move the subject farther away from the background otherwise you will get flare on your subject which is what i happening to the bottom of your current picture. I hope this helps.

No doubt that the best result comes in-camera. I played with the edit approach, and though it does a fair job; it still has defects.

One thing I wondered about the ultimate objective, whether it was to include all the surrounding back and foreground to be white.

Perhaps there is a way to the edit approach, but I suspect regardless of success, it is faster and easier to get there by the lighting arrangements.

Thanks for saying this before I did Wolf, because I would not have been as tactful...

I'm surprised no one has mentioned this already, but if the OP is going to be doing a lot of this type of photography, she may want to invest in a light box and lights to get the effect she is looking for.

Look, I wasn't trying to step on anyone's toes here because the last time I looked the person making the post asked for help & that is all I did. I think some people that did not make the original post should take a chill pill.

Is it really so much to remind people of the forum rules, and ask that people follow them by respecting others and asking permission, instead of stealing someone elses art and making it their own?
Telling wolf to take a 'chill pill' is not only an immature thing to do, but pretty dumb. Wolf is one of the more experienced and extremely helpful people in this forum. Maybe before showing your disrespect, you should take a look at the person's prior postings to see if they deserve it. You will find Wolf's postings, albeit somewhat lacking tact sometimes, very knowledgeable and helpful to others, knowledge that he does not have to share.

Boy, some one really woke up on the wrong side of the bed. I did not intend to disrespect anyone. But, i do think you also need a chill pill or a good stiff drink. I also resent being accused of stealing someone elses art & making it my own.
