Identification Please

Is this a Swainson's Warbler? Please excuse the photo quality. I had to get the picture before he disappeared.

I asked my resident bird authority and she thinks it is more likely a Wren and it looks a lot like a Carolina Wren. The one identifiable feature being the more "upright" tail feathers as compared to the Warblers flat or straight line feathers.

Thanks for your effort. You are probably right. It was not listed in my Field Guide to the Birds of Texas

That's a Bewick's wren or a Carolina wren. Not sure I can distinguish between them from just one image.

The two wrens' territories overlap in Texas, so it could be either one.

My favorite! Have a family past 5 - 6 years. Like to search crevices for spider eggs and what not.

It is either a Carolina or Berwick's Wren. Most likely a Carolina.

Carolina Wren, possibly the Mexican subspecies.

Definitely a Carolina Wren. The underparts of a Bewick's are ash grey and the tail is longer.
