Red Bellied Woodpeckers are constantly pecking and swishing through the feeder mix...happened to catch the action here... :!:

Very nice catch, I find a number of birds seem to be picky eaters looking for just the right seed

Thanks...yes many birds are quite picky, but the woodpeckers certainly assist the more ground based wildlife with plenty to eat..... :D

Your right Harve, they are picky eaters most of the seed falls on the floor from my feeding station at the caravan.Good shot.

Great shot, I've seen Blue Jays doing the same thing. Both of them are to big for most feeders, so they hang along the side like your Red Bellied here. Fabulous capture.

Nice capture hb3! I have the most difficult time trying to photograph woodpeckers, they never seem to stand still for long enough to get a decent capture!

Howard, thanks....my technique is to reduce the shutter speed as much as possible and shoot in bursts...helps me get some keepers... :thumbup:
