I am off to Paris this coming September and am looking for an apartment for one week. Am traveling with my son and granddaughter, age ten. I would appreciate any comments/recommendations on rental companies such as Home Away, VRBO, AIRBNB, etc... Also open to tips, suggestions, experiences.
Thank you/merci beau coup !

It sounds like a great experience you have coming up, and you're smart asking for advice. If you speak any French, that will be greatly appreciated.
Laura Haymann rented to us three years ago. She works in both Paris and London and rents (rented) her Paris apartment while in London. It was very reasonable with a full kitchen, separate bedroom and large sitting room (by European standards).
You can try to contact her through the following:

the address: 163 Rue de Vaugirard, Paris.
bon voyage.
You can try paris attitude they are better priced for larger apartments than others. That's who I am using again this dummer

My wife and I rented a great 1 bedroom apartment for 9 days in Paris in 2012. All correspondence was done from Newton, NJ. All payments were done through them and they mailed the keys about a week before we left. Our apt was a block from everything we needed and we ended up eating all our meals at the apt saving a lot of money.
Enjoy your trip.

We "traded houses" with a young couple we found through Craig's list and lived half kilometer from the Seine for four weeks last January and February. Theirs was a fifth-floor walk-up (96 steps, I counted). Paris in winter was not overrun with tourists and the longest line we had was about 20 minutes when we arrived at a museum immediately after two tour buses.
Best thing about Paris? Carrots in the street markets of different colors - white, purple, yellow - and different flavors.
Every trip I've made to Paris, I never made any reservations. You can just go to the Paris Visitor Information Center, either at the airport, or in the City. Tell them what you are looking for in accommodations, tours etc. and they will give you a list, and offer suggestions of which Ardossment would fit your budget, and location. Buy Metro Passes for your entire stay, museum passes are a good idea, you'll breeze past the lines at the Louve. Buy a good guide book, be sure all the sites you want to go to list the Metro Stop, and get a Metro map and study it before you go. Enjoy your trip to Paris, it is a wonderful city. Once there, relax, enjoy the bread, and wine. Take a relaxing tour down the Seine after dark, take in a show at the Moulin Rouge. Take your best walking shoes, everything is cobblestones. Try learning some French before you leave. Remember, "Bonjour" will break all ice in Parisian shops.

Be prepared to pay a lot for an apartment, even if it's just for 10 days, Paris is one of the most expensive places there is when it comes to housing.
