I'm new to the forum and just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Dave and have been a developing landscape photographer since the summer of 2009. I have a Canon 5D Mark II, and am currently learning Photoshop Cs5 techniques for post production. My favorite photographer is Marc Adamus, and hope to learn more from all of you. I'm sharing a shot of Proxy Falls in Oregon. I hope you like it and welcome all comments!
Proxy Falls
Where is Proxy Falls in Oregon? Is there a long hike to get to it?
Proxy Falls is on my list, for sure, and Marc Adamus is one of my favorite photogs as well... i seem to recall a wonderful shot he took of this falls, though a tighter crop, that really made me want to shoot this special place...

it's in central Oregon, about an hour east of Eugene. the hike to get there is less than a mile, from what i've read...
If you take the McKenzie Highway 242 out of Sisters, it will take you to the trailhead after a few miles through a lot of volcanic rock landscape, and the hike is easy.
What type of lens and type of filter did you use?
Nice tonal effect of greens and blues. Did you use a ND filter to capture the slikinees in the water?
Wut deeze falls you speak of? The only falls we have in FL are falling into a sinkhole!!!! Really nice! Does it smell as green as it looks? Welcome to the forums Dave!
Unfortunately at the time I didn't have a wide angle specific lens so I was using a Canon EF 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM Image Stabilized AutoFocus Wide Angle Telephoto Zoom Lens. I have since picked up a Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L USM Ultra Wide Angle Zoom Lens.
No filters needed here. I shot it in raw, and in manual mode. The Falls area is mostly shaded so a longer exposure was easy. I did some post production using Gimp. I am currently efforting to learn Photoshop CS5 extended and hope to be able to create some really beautiful images.
