Last weekend my wife and I accompanied her husband and family to Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles. I only wanted to take one lens so took my seldom used Nikon 12-24 on my Nikon D800. The photos are of Dodger Stadium and of course obligatory photos of my 6 year old granddaughter, Giovanna. The first shot is before the game when she was still clean. The second shot of her is after munching throughout the game. Any comments are welcome.

Great shots...I love photos at baseball stadiums and this one has a lot of history. Glad you got in with your big camera. Some clubs will not allow DSLR's for some reason. Your Granddaughter is just precious.

GO DODGERS! Great shots. Going to a Mets-Dodgers game on Tuesday, (wife is an ardent Mets fan) and I'll be bringing my Sigma 17-70 & Nikkor 55-200. Last year I saw others with cameras...why not me.
Your granddaughter is a cutie.

Thanks, James. I appreciate you looking at my photos and the nice comments. I sweated my camera but the Dodgers website says they won't allow lenses over 6 inches. The gate person didn't even need me to really take it out of the case.
About a year ago my brother took his D800 with an 80-400 lens. He said every so often a security person would come over and warn him that if they saw him taking a professional photo they would have to ask him to leave.
I guess I can sort of see why they don't want professional photographers there since Time Warner who has the photo rights for the stadium doesn't want to lose a dime of profit so if I was there with a tripod and a 600 mm f4 lens I could see it.
Next time I will take my 24-85 on the D800 or a 16-85 on my D7000.
My granddaughter really is a sweet girl. I love her to come over so I have somebody to play with. She is a little ham around cameras. I think if I checked her butt it would be stamped AA Grade Prime.

Thanks, Indi, for the comments and for looking. I don't get much into baseball anymore but did not want to miss an opportunity to test my 12-24 lens. I think it did well.
Seeing a Dodgers/Giants game was strange for me because I grew up about 60 miles above NYC. When I was a kid there was the NY Yankees, Brooklyn Dodgers and of course the NY Giants. So which one to root for??? I just picked the winner after the game. Giants won but I still wore a Dodgers T shirt.
Giovanna will go into a clothing store and stand inside a shirt on a display rack (posing like a model) to see if I or my wife can spot her. I tell her she is a pain in the neck because she always wants to help us whether it be weeding the plants or helping lift heavy bags of potting soil. I have taught her how to grunt like a man to make the lifting easier. My next trick is to teach her to spit when Nana isn't looking. Someone has to show girls how to be like a man, after all.

Probably by her parents. Winding up is good for kids at times. One of the times it is good is visiting Nana's house.

No, by my wife. Her mother's mother. Especially at our house.
Yes, it IS good for them, but moms just don't understand.

The stadium shots are nice but frankly can't hold a candle to the images of your lovely granddaughter.

No argument there. Thanks for looking and for the nice compliment. I will have to show her the post when I see her next week.
