I had my D600 in for the "shutter spots" for the second time about 2 months ago. It was for the recall. I must say that after about 1500 shots since I got it back and it is still clear. Now only time will tell.
WAY TO GO NIKON! FINALLY!

They got mine right too! Good luck!
I still got the spots after Nikon replaced the shutter on my D600. I wrote them including a picture of the new spots. They replaced my D600 with a D610. I really appreciated them doing that.

Just stay away from those sky shots. :D
Thanks to all that responded. I'm liking my D605 so far(I always loved the quality of the images....the spots just drove me NUTS.) Especially on a $2K camera.
As far as I am concerned it is the bottom of the ninth and Nikon has 2 outs and 2 strikes. Trust me....there WON'T be a Base on (my)Balls here.
Just trying to stay positive.....Good Luck to ALL!!!
P.S. What's ammatta Jerry? Don't like my clouds(without spots)? LOL!

I know that you have been through the mill with that camera, so I have to ask, If you decided to get another camera, would you stay with Nikon?

Very Good Question. I had a D3100 before this and I liked it a lot. A friend has a D90 and a D700 and I like them too. I originally was going to wait for the D7100, but when the D600 was released I could wait NO MORE. I jumped on the D600. Plus I got the "Green Light" from the wife. That's why I bought another Nikon.
I "may" (will) be open to persuasion on my next camera should this debacle persist, although I have a lens inventory now and a SB700 speedlight.
Sometimes it just plain SUX!
Great Question though.....Any Suggestions?

With the exception of the D600, Nikon has always had a solid reputation. Considering that you have an inventory of Nikkor glass and other equipment, it seems that it would be very expensive to switch brands at this stage of the game. I have been a Nikon guy as long as I can remember. Like you, I started out with the D3100 as my first digital and now I have that one, a D50 that I picked up along the way, a D7000 that is a phenomenal camera and just got a DF as my first FX body. After what happened with the D600, I'd bet that Nikon has seriously improved their quality control practices.

I would HOPE so Erik, 'cuz I really like the way they are set up and the way they work.
Plus.....my brother-in-law and my wife's whole family are Canon shooters, so it's a matter of pride now. You know what I mean? My D600 is STILL "the big dog on the porch!"
