turn a word into a hotlink in a post? I tried to make the word "museum" into the blue underlined word making it go to the museum's website.

Use the tags found on the left margin. Use the [url]. Tags.

I can't figure it out...I've tried typing what it shows and trying the control button while typing and a couple other things. The smileys get the finger when scrolling over them, but the tags don't do anything. Please explain.

I don't think Admin will allow that. I tried using the website "TinyURL.com" once & admin rejected it & I had to repost with the original long link.

Like this?
Hot Link

Substitute brackets [ ] where there are parenthesis ( ) :

As I said in my post, use brackets instead of parenthesis.

All I did was put a [ bracket where you had a ( parenthesis.
Make sure they point the right way.

Looks like you got it while I was typing.
Yayy!
Do it often and it becomes second nature.

The list on the left of the text box is not that helpful with this feature but I think if they added what they needed, it would become a link too.
