Hello from:Adirondackphotography.
Hello I am new to this site. I have always love taking photos. I just got my 1st dslr camera (Cannon rebel t3i) as a Christmas gift last year before that I just used a pon=int and shoot(Nikon p510) I am still learning and trying to understand what it takes to create the image I see in my mind. I love taking photos of many different subjects, nature,family,insects,scenery,sunset/sunrises and pretty much anything else that caches my eye. I always have my camera with me. I would love to get some feed back on my photos so I can improve on my techniques and have a better understanding of the photography world.
My great neice. I took this last summer at my home. (Johnsonville NY)

Off to a good start, but watch your horizon and keep it level. Look at the first 4 photos nothing is level. Practice practice and more practice.
Thanks. I need to buy a tripod.

A tripod will only hold your camera still, you will still have to pay attention to your horizon and adjust for it. You can also correct it in PP , but you will loose some of your picture depending how far off level you are. I see you are shooting with a T3, you might want to refer to your manual and see if the camera has a level indicator in it. But you really need to pay attention in the view finder.
PS: I'm from NY but now live in NC. Love the mountains in upstate NY.
PPS: just looked at your photos again and you have some really neat shots!
REMEMBER TO WATCH YOUR HORIZON LINE AND KEEP SHOOTING
I think you have a pretty good eye for snapping you shoots. I would like to recommend that you start a little Post Production which would allow you to make the most of your photo's. There are many options out there and some are free. I would recommend Picasa which allow you to make a lot of the adjustment mentioned. It's a free-bee.
Enjoyed you photos.
What is PP ? Thanks for the help. I know I have a good eye and the desire to take awesome and memorable photos. I just need help getting there.
I have photoshop elements 11. Im still learning how all the features work.
My what nice photos! Welcome.

Greetings adirondackphotography, and welcome to the UHH!
Nice first posting of photos.
You have some nice photographs. As stated by others keeping the horizon level is important. The other thing I noticed is that with many of your photographs the primary subject is dead center in the photo yet with a few such as the last one you posted of your grand niece she is slightly off center making it an even nicer photograph.
Do a google search on "photography rule of thirds." Play with the rule of thirds and straighten out your horizons then you can learn more on post production techniques. Read up on tripods and their uses before you put out the money for one. Many buy a cheap tripod that is mostly useless resulting in disappointing results.
Consider joining a photography group to learn from other local photographers. Look for a local group by asking other photographers. I can help you locate one if you send me a message.
You have a good start. Keep shooting!

Welcome, you've certainly got some talent. Pay attention to what's already been said and shoot as often as you can. Looking forward to more of your photos.
