These are some random pictures I just edited in the last couple of weeks. Wanted to get some opinions on them and what I could do to make them better. Thanks in advance for the help.

I like your festive cocked photos.
No need to be always so conventional.
Adds flavor to your shots.

Thank you......this is the first time I've played with black and white in lightroom, so any pointers to better my photography are welcome.

Like all the photos. The one of the baby and birthday cake - if you could lighten up the deep shadows just a bit without doing anything else it would bring out a lot of detail in the baby's face.

In lightroom is there a way to do that without washing out the entire picture? Or do I need to get a more serious program for that? Right now all I do is play with the exposure a little in light room and on the black and white ones shown I just click the black and white button.

I'm "good enough" in LR to be dangerous ... so can't answer your question. Somebody else here might be able to do so - or repost this corrected image in the Post Processing forum and I'm sure someone will help.

Sorry :(
