I caught this pelican as he was landing. Please feel free to add any constructive comments (or just applause if appropriate! )

If it were mine, I'd crop out the cruise ship from the bottom of the photo. The bird against the clouds is quite sufficient to generate interest.

Good capture. I agree with Bob though - you don't need the cruise ship in the frame.

I like the view of the pelican, however if you had checked the 'download' selection, we could get a better view. I like looking just at the pelican. The ship is so tilted and so far below the pelican, that the ship calls me eye away from the pelican. I love the way you captured the pelican and the background. Really nice shot, just ditch the ship.

Thanks so much for the input. I did crop the boat from the original image (I should've posted that one!), but I retained the original to remind of the setting. This was at the docks in Cozumel. The female was close by as well. Once the male landed, he let me approach and stroke his wings. Guess he's very used to the las touristas!!!

Now I don't suppose you got any pictures of that. That would be priceless!

To Photo Girl, I'm not sure what you're referring to by "download" section. My apologies, but I'm a bit new to posting pics here.

When you are attaching a photo for posting, just to the far right, there is a block to click on for 'store original). Just click on it with your mouse before sending.

I tried to copy the section, but my computer is giving me such a hard time. Maybe some of our other posters can show it, but it's right there when you attach a file/picture attachment.

Thank you! I do have a few more pics (including one of the male with his better half, and one of me petting him). I'll try to get them up later today.

This is it, the little box to the far right, under "file/picture attachments." Your browser may show the word "browse" instead of "choose file."

Do note that if the image you upload is small enough, it will only display in the thumbnail version, even if the box is clicked (I don't recall at what size that happens).
