Mocking Bird Nest

This fell out of a very thick bush that was next to a Holly bush that was being removed. I put it in a tree close by, so far the feral cat next door hasn't noticed. The parents are taking care of the eggs, so any day now maybe I'll have some macro baby shots!
Taken with a Nikon D90 and a Nikon 105mm lens.

These are nice close-up photos of bird eggs and nest. Not close enough to be considered macro-photographs.

Neat closeup of the nest, Fhayes. I hope the feral cat stays away. We lose too many birds to ferals. Good for you for taking the time to replace the nest.

Thanks Dixiegirl, did you know it is a federal crime to remove bird nests from their location? Even nests that have fallen. Part of the migrating birds protection act, some return to lay at the same nest, It stresses them to find home gone. Because most people can't tell an eagle nest from a sparrows, they are all off limits.

I do, but if it came down to moving a fallen nest to protect the babies from a predator, I'd move the nest.
