All I can say is; great camera! Most everything works like my other two Nikons, so not much of a learning curve. Took these this morning at a local gun club. They call themselves the Okeechobee Marshals!

Ready for anything!

Congratulations on the new D700. I didn't know you were a man after my own heart with firearms too. That looks like a 73 on the right, too small to be a 76. Do you know if it is original or a reproduction? What caliber?

Good shooting to you,

Dennis

Dennis: I did not really take the time, as we were heading over to shoot some trap and the love bugs were getting bad! They meet the second Saturday of the month at the OK Corral Gun Club. Hope to learn more from them next time. Some, however, were shooting black powder.

Great Shots! (pardon the pun.)
I'm not a gun person, and I'm not opposed to it either, but in that third image, looks like the sheriff didn't know what he was doing. (I know he did.)

Yea, kinda looks that way, but it was a quick load and shoot and he was reaching for more shells as the breach was opened.

May I ask what doesn't look right to you?

I'm just making some humor here.
The barrel pointing down and smoke coming out of it.

nothing wrong with that shot, the barrel is supposed to be pointing down when you are reloading and the smoke is from the powder discharge after his last shot, perfectly normal

Thank you all again for your comments! I had fun shooting this yesterday. First time I had seen something quite like this.
Hope to get some great shots next weekend. We are having our Lincoln Day Dinner and Shoot at this same place. This will be a Sporting Clay shoot with Rep. Tom Rooney and Senator Denise Grimsley and other dignitaries from Florida.
