I have been trying to refill my canon cartridge without success. I drill a small hole into the top and then slowly inject the ink.
Then all of the ink runs out of the bottom sponge hole.
what am i doing wrong.

Refilling a cartridge that wasn't meant to be refilled. It's a sealed cartridge, trying plugging the hole you drilled and see if that helps. Make sure your ink is Canon ink, other brands may be thicker/thinner and can actually damage your printer. Also most of the new cartridges have a date code and some printers (like my HP) won't accept out of date cartridges, even if they are brand new HP cartridges.
I used to refill cartridges until I found 'SimplyInk.com' most of the ink is about seven dollars. I compared them to canon ink and there is no difference.
Probably its the hole seal it with tape or something.
A good refill place might be better for you than doing your own.
If your printer can be adapted to a continuous ink system that can be the most economical. However you need a source of good quality ink.
Investing considerable money on photo equipment and computer hardware and software, and considerable time in capturing images, then trying to save a few dimes on what that time and money was spent on, does not compute.

Depends on what and why you are printing. Frequently you can spend more on a set of cartridges than the printer you bought them for. It could make sense to run two printers 1 for draft and 1 for best. i'm on 4 printers including 1 lazer sometimes i'm looking for quality sometimes just cheap after all if i print a web page as long as i can read it, thats all that matters. if I want to frame it and put it on the wall i'll use my canon or epson Photo's can be for quality or information. I sometimes will use a camera phone to just record some info , but for advertising i use my dslr.
Using third party ink in a brand name printer will void the warrenty
Costco also refills Canon ink for between approximately $7-$10. You have to join but its worth it to access thier photo printing/restoration services as well as thier full store.

It does if your on a tight budget. Many here are on fixed incomes and need to save where the can.

What value has a warranty when the proper cartridges cost more than the printer?

I have been told that printers now have chips that will somehow record when a cartridge has run out of ink. If you try to have it refilled, the printer will reject it, as the chip knew it was empty. I ran into this with my HP. So, a work around, if this should happen to anyone else, is to buy two sets of cartridges, and alternate them. When one is empty replace it with the other, refill the original, then when you need to replace the newer one, use the refilled one. Repeat as necessary. The printer only remembers the last cartridge, not the one before it.

I checked their prices and they were $2 higher then amazon.
No third party ink available for canon pro 100
When it comes to Ink the situation is dynamic, there may be no third party ink available for the canon pro 100 now but next year , next month there maybe.
There are two types of inkjet cartridge some with the printhead built in others that are just plastic tanks holding ink. In order to restrict third party ink use many cartridges are chipped theres a little circuit board which can be as simple as a counter. I've not come across any cartridge which actually measures the amount of ink used most work simply on the number of pages printed.
There is almost always some ink left when a tank says its empty. To reuse a tank it generally needs to be filled and the chip to be reset.
Sometimes the original chip is used sometimes 3rd party tanks come with 2 or more sets of tanks half with chips half without and you take the chip from the first tank and use it with the second tank. Sometimes you can buy a reset tool to reset the chip and refill the tanks yourself.
It depends on the printer what methods are available.

No third party ink available for canon pro 100
www.inkamerica.com and search for Pro 100. They have replacement cartridges and I have used them for years.
