Is this a pedigree or is it just beautiful?

I was round at a friend's house the other day when this cat came in from the garden. Sorry, these are really lousy snaps but it was just so beautiful with such unusual and striking markings that I had to take some shots of it. Troube was that it just would not stay still long enough.

As you can see from the first photo it even had unusual marking on it's underside. It also had the silkiest fur that I have ever felt on any cat.

I'm not a cat person but this cat has beautiful markings. Wonder if it has a pedigree.

A real beauty. You managed to get some non-blurry shots; I rarely can do that w/ a pet.

Believe me, some of them were blurry, but I'm glad that others think the same as I. I found out afterwards that it's name is, appropriately, Tiger.

It looks like a "Bengal" to me. They come mostly marbled like this one and also come striped. They have some of the softest fur that you'll ever lay your hands on too. Beeeeeeauuuuuuutiiiiiiful breed of cat that is about a 10 on the active scale. Yes, I'd also be willing to bet that it has a pedigree.

I can see why you would think that it is a Bengal but according to this:

https://es.images.search.yahoo.com/search/images;_ylt=A9mSs2MIP25Twy8AD0KT.Qt.;_ylu=X3oDMTBsYWhiN2NvBHNlYwNzYwRjb2xvA2lyMgR2dGlkAw--?_adv_prop=image&fr=yfp-t-907&va=Bengal+cat

Bengals are more spotted than striped.

My guess would be that it's a very nice example of a domestic shorthair or American shorthair. I doubt that an owner would let an expensive pedigree wander outside. Didn't you ask your friend about it?

She wasn't there to ask and I only found out its name via another friend who had also been in her house.

American shorthairs have sort of similar marking but are a different colour:

I agree with Winterhawk1960 that it is probably a Bengal. A Bengal is a cross between a domestic cat an an Asian Leopard. They are not recognized as a true breed by the Cat Fanciers Association because they are so new. I have a friend that has one and she is quite a handful. I have a rescue cat that definitely has Bengal in his lineage. He is my trouble maker. He is also very sweet and loves to cuddle.

That is a beautiful cat you have photographed. I love his markings. My friends cat has what looks like a small pair of wings on her back.
