It depends on how you're going to use it and what your budget is. I don't have enough knowledge to advise you of what the difference is, but I have the SB700 and it work very well for me.

If you decide you want it, a used one is a little less. LensProToGo has one. There are also a few at KEH. If there are any issues, KEH has a fair return policy, and I expect LensProToGo would also, but one should check. If it works when you get it, I don't think you have to worry about it breaking, it is built pretty well.

Ken Rockwell has done good reviews of all of the Nikon flashes online. Just do a Google search for Ken Rockwell Nikon SB910 review. I have the SB700 and have been very impressed with it. The SB910 has a little more power and a couple of extra features.

I have a SB900, Mistake, and I would also think the SB910 is also. Again. Like this post, it depends on your expectations. Rapid fire is too much for these flashes, if you are not expecting to do this then they are great. Otherwise I hear, although I don't have one, the SB700 is really good. I have three SB600, work horses that never fail me.

Then you have found your flash! Generally speaking, the larger and heavier, and more expensive a flash is, the more light it puts out, and the more versatile it is. If you don't mind the size and the price, go for it. Then learn how to use it. Using a flash properly can be more mind-challenging than using a camera properly.

If you need or want the features it is worth it.

I think Nikon has the best flash system available today. Controlling multiple flashes is made easy, no calculations needed.

SB700 will do nicely, however plus lot of extra options and more power.

You don't want to have to buy twice so I'd buy the best flash. You must read the manual and practice. I like Neil Van Niekerk's books and website tangents.

Do not have a SB 910, bit for another $100 you could have two SB 700s. Even more power and different angles. (both sides or front and back lighting)
