Back to the Milky Way

Did a little reading and changed some settings on the camera, most noticeable was the white balance to Kelvin 3330. Also found some sharper edge foreground plants and embraced the light pollution as even the darkest areas within a hundred miles are borderline for good detail. Hope to try again in July when I'll be traveling north. This is rather fun and a new part of photography for me.

These are beautiful. It is so wonderful to see the Milky Way and city folks are missing a lot.

These are all very good. I particularly like the one with the railroad tracks.

I was going to say fantastic, but someone beat me to it! Really great shots. Where were they taken from?

Very good... Nice to see the 'teapot' of Sagittarius showing through, particularly in everyone's favourite, with the railroad tracks. A lot of the time, the constellation gets lost in the sea of stars, out there towards the center of the galaxy. Nicely done...

These were taken in Venus Florida. A little township about 15 miles from Lake Placid Florida. It's the darkest area within 50 miles at least of me. Found this spot thru the Dark Sky Map I used. There are 2 more levels of darker sky, that I'm hoping to visit in the near future.
