I just downloaded and installed the newest Lightroom from Creative Cloud onto a Macbook Air running OS X 10.9.2 and it won't work. I have looked through the forums and nothing is working. Anybody else have the same trouble with a fix?

Reserve yourself a couple of hours and then use the Adobe Help.
I had the same problems when I downloaded LR 5.4 and it took 2 Adobe experts to get it running on my Windows system.
I am running OSX 10.9.2 and have LR5.4 installed no problems here.
I'd take Searcher's advice.

When you say it doesn't work, what do you mean? What happens when you try to open the program? Are there error messages? Have you used another version of LR before? Is another version working on this computer? I have the same software and system so I'll be glad to share any info I have. I have no problems other than those I cause myself sometimes:)
I installed LR5 on 10.9.2 last month using a disk and haven't had any problems. You might try uninstalling, restarting and then reinstalling to see if that helps.
I have 10.9.2 and LR 5.4 also, with no problems. I think the issue may be with the Creative Cloud component, since others with the software on their Macs don't seem to have any problems.
I had a similar problem when I first installed it. The tech and I could not figure it out, until he went on and found the reason. For some unknown reason it installed a start up file in my storage drive. I only use my extra drive once a week when I want it on as Apple constantly uses it through the day. So, when I had it off it would not start up. Longer story short, if you have an extra hard drive, make sure it is off when you download the program.
Thanx for each response. I have tried multiple uninstalls, using Appcleaner to completely remove all traces, and reinstalled. I do know how LR is supposed to work because I used a trial version on Windows last year. The complete package isn't downloading or something because there is nothing but an empty shell. No Library or Develop modules at all. When clicking on either module it says "Error when attempting to change modules." The preference file isn't in the app finder either, so can't delete it to start another. Part of the thing is I am rather new to Mac. I tried repairing Permissions and running repairs on the disc without remedy. Thanx again for the posts.
Did you go to your download file and try from there?

Come again? "...go to ...download file...?"

Go to your Download folder and see if the downloaded dmg file is really there and looks normal.
On mac's all you have to do with an installation file is double-click on it and it should do the rest. LR should give you messages throughout the installation process, asking you where you want it installed at the beginning and and should confirm that it is installed OK when it gets done. Is it giving you these messages when you install? If your old version is running you may get a message that you should quit that version before finishing the installation.

Will give it a try. Don't have time to sit and wait on Adobe support chatters.
Thanx.

If you ever get one, the chatters do pretty well. The wait is awful most times. The lightroom queen website has a lot of good troubleshooting info too. Let us know what happens and we'll try to help. It is usually pretty easy stuff but if you're new to mac, it might be confusing. I'd hate to think I had to set it up on a windows computer.
Just to reassure you it does work, I downloaded and installed Photoshop CC and Lightroom5 last week for my iMac running 10.9.2 and they work fine.
I had a problem trying to upload Jpegs to UHH and Finder would lock up. Apple worked with me. It could be something in your Library from an old install blocking you. You might give Apple a call. They have the best tech support I know of. Good luck.
