You may never get another chance......
I don't pester the guys I work with with my camera but do occasionally ask them If I can take candid portraits of them. Usually when I have a new toy to play with. I always ask and respect those who decline. I had been trying to get my lead mechanic, Terry, to let me photograph him for a while. (at his wife's insistence) He was just one of those guys who didn't like being photographed and always seemed to be in motion in any case. He finally let me grab a few shots at the end of the shift one day. I'm really glad I did. Three weeks ago Terry was involved in a very unfortunate accident at work and passed away. My photos were the only recent ones available and were used for the Memorial program and a Plaque we had made for the shop......

It's things like this that remind us that photography is not just an art form or a hobby but a way to tell the story. He was lucky to have you around.

Nicely done.
Thanks..... Terry was my Lead Mechanic, Trouble-Shooter, Fill-in Supervisor and good friend. We used to joke that his main job was to keep me out of trouble and hardly a day went by that he didn't remind me about something I'd forgotten.
