Bumpy is very depressed, having been voted out as Grand Panjandrum of the Kitty Council. Martian blamed him for the recent fiasco involving the Council's decision to banish me, and introduced a motion for impeachment.

The motion carried.

Bumpy's out, but there's a lot of infighting among the Council as to whom they should pick as their new leader. Martian's running on his usual campaign promise of silver or lead, but according to an inside source at Fox News, the voters aren't moved, and Bauble has this one in the bag.

Poor Bumpy, but we all understand the concept of "cat fights".

Thanks, Jim. Jewell is a beauty, but you're wise to put the kibosh on the power grab. One does not want to cross Martian, and he's going to be upset at losing this particular election. Really upset.

Thanks, Phlash46. One must be careful around Bumpy and Martian, as both will hypnotize you with those blue eyes and get you to do their bidding.

Martian, of course, is after world domination, while Bumpy usually just asks for a few treats and his ears rubbed. : )

Thanks, Ron. Tippit's very wise. Martian's plans for world domination may have been temporarily thwarted by SUPERGOOSE, but he doesn't give up easily. He figures first he'll take over the Kitty Council, then burn the Reichstag and provide the excuse he needs to get rid of the opposition.

Bumpy, meanwhile, is wallowing in self-pity. He has liberated some of BingBong's Xanax tablets and now spends his time either asleep or gorging on pretzels and beer. It's not pretty.

But he's a resilient sort, and he'll come around, I'm sure, especially if Martian loses the election.

Glad you let us know about this. I keep the car keys around my neck in case Sudi wants to take a quick trip down there to get into the politics going on at your place. And another reason -- she hates cold weather and it's abnormally cool here. So, she's got two reasons to sneak down for a visit.
The trouble with these guys is that they all have gorgeous eyes, as you so well demonstrate, and they sucker us in all the time.

Thanks, James. Bumpy doesn't seem to be mad at me so much as he is at Martian, whom he blames for starting the whole thing.

Bumpy is, on the whole, a rather benign creature. Revenge just isn't his style. However, if Martian rose to power, Bumpy would likely find himself in a concentration camp and marked for liquidation.
