Hi, I'm Mike, a Yooper from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. I have been retired for 10 years.
I have been taking photos for about 40 years, starting with a Pentax SP 1000. About 5 years ago I got a Canon T1i but mainly shot in auto or sports mode. I have just purchased a Canon 70D and now I want to learn how to use all the settings so that I can take the best picture possible in any situation.
I have been reading the Ugly Hedgehog every morning for about 4 months now. There is a lot of great information here from all the members. I'm sure I will learn a lot.

I think that winter may be finally over, but I thought the same thing a couple times in the past month and we got hit hard again. Two weeks ago yesterday we had 14" of snow. Next week is supposed to be in the 50's all week. I probably shouldn't complain because lot of other places have had a lot more bad storms than we have had.
