RMM, General Chit Chat is pretty much a blog on it's own completely separate from photography. I first joined because of my interest in photography as I had just transferred from film to digital and had MANY questions as you could imagine. Those answers are here as so many Hoggers are quite talented, knowledgeable and skilled in their craft being more than willing to share their expertise.

When I discovered the CC section I was fascinated with the quantity of diverse opinions which I found both informative and some silly, imo. Never the less I was attracted to the humor,intellegence and wit of most posters. Although I may disagree with others religious or political views I try to be open minded.

Leaving the Hog because you find one poster to be offensive is your choice but in my opinion not a rational one. You have much more to lose than to gain. Think of all the newbies you may be able to help with your knowledge. Think of what you might learn, also.

There are a number of photo blogs and I've experienced many but have yet to find one as diverse, informative and as easy to navigate as this one. I hope you reconsider as I have enjoyed your contributions as I have Larry's even though he is a zealous conspiracy theorist and an anti-zionist he still has a right to express his views as do we all.

If you want to eliminate him all you have to do is unsubscribe from the chit chat section and just disregard him other places. His avatar is colorful enough it is easy to see.

I agree, he's not only opinionated, and his opinions are odd to say the least, and I've never known Larry to admit to being wrong, even when it's obvious. However, as long as he stops hijacking threads and posts his opinions on his own threads, he has all the right to stay here. You'll have to either work around him, or, as you said, leave, if he really bothers you that much. Chill, baby!!

Nagy: Your speculation about what Alan Dershowitz would do is rather flawed. Dershowitz is not about freedom of speech, but about using group dynamics to prevent free speech from questioning any aspect of Zionism. He used it to block the professorship of Norman Finkelstein at DePaul University.
