Rollei 35 S

In very good condition. There are a couple of very minor scuff marks and a small ding near the shutter buttonn

This is a great little German made 35mm film camera that is almost (maybe not quite) pocket size. From the early 70s.
At the time it was, and may still be, the smallest 35mm camera ever made. The Minox may have bee a tad smaller when it came out.
Comes with a manual a lens cap and a wrist strap but no case.
-It has a 40mm f/2.8 lens
-No auto anything
-Focusing is done by estimating distance (3ft to infinity)
-The camera has a light meter but the batteries are no longer available since they had some miniscule amount of mercury (this is a topic for the rant section) There are some adapters and DIY solutions that are supposed to make commonly available batteries work.

$250 OBO

I had a Rolliflex TLR that I sold last year. In many ways it was the best camera I've ever owned (or seen for that matter).

I still have the 'poor man's' version of this. The B35. It had a cheaper lens, (also collapsible), and a meter that didn't need a battery. (This still works and is ready to go.) It was made in Singapore ;-) I've even got the owner's manual and lens cap.
I was a rock climber for nearly 20 years and this was my constant companion since it was pocket sized and gave good quality images. Didn't match my Pentax but I wasn't up for carrying that!

They sure did make good stuff back then.
Just holding my Rolleiflex you could feel the craftsmanship. I love my Canon gear but (with the exception of the "L" lenses)....you don't get that same sense.

I don't think I agree with you ;-) My 7D was built like a tank and the new 6d feels solid as well.

Actually on reflection perhaps you're right. The black finish by the lens mount on the 7D wore off from contact with my middle finger. Canon refused to offer any touch up paint or redo it under warranty. They said it was 'normal wear and tear'! I never had that trouble with the 40D I owned.
If you look at the condition of the paint on my B35 after all it went through, it was clearly much better painted.
These are of course cosmetic issues and don't really reflect on the strength and reliability of the camera. But with improving technology durability of the finish should get better not worse. Right? And then there is the issue of customer service. Would Rollei have called this normal wear and tear ...................

I do like my 6D but I miss the speed of the 7D.
The 6D now has a patch of masking tape over the place where it wore away on the 7D. Once bitten .............
