Exif info of image #2 reveals a 105-mm macro lens. A true macro capture is only possible at Minimum Focusing Distance, which has a Working Distance of 6.2-inches. I have to reformat my brain when it comes to evaluating full frame macros.
Thanks for looking, Nikonian. All shots were handheld with the snail crawling through the ice plant looking stuff. Some shots I was able to get in close and some shots are what they are. With him being slimy it was like trying to focus on Jello.
