Hi, I am just starting getting started in photography. My inspiration is my granddaughter. She models boutiques items and I want to be able to take some of her photos. But, as I have gotten a new camera and started practicing. I am finding that I really like it a lot. I enjoy taking my camera out and capturing sunsets and nature. It is amazing when I look through the lens of my camera and discover things that I never paid attention to before. I really am liking this and I would love any advice and critiquing I can get. I look forward to being in this forum with all you other amazing photographers.

Hello Tresap 23 and welcome. You're right, photography does open up your eyes to a whole new world because it teaches us to be observant and gives us a better understanding of so many things we take for granted - light/shadows, colour, contrast, beauty.... Your pictures are sharp which is a good start, and they are nicely composed. It's amazing how much of a problem this can be. Keep taking photos, particularly of the things that interest you. You will soon develop a style if you are keen, and who knows where that may lead. At least with digital you can be extravagant so the more you take the more you will learn (and quicker). Don't be afraid to be experimental too; making mistakes is the best way to learn (as long as you don't keep making the same ones of course). Read books/magazine, join a club if possible and, most importantly, have fun!
