I went up to Ledbetter State Park to enjoy the sun and see if I could photo some birds. I got a surprisingly good shot at a Great Blue Heron, who took off as soon as I arrived, but other than that the only birds around were crows. But I was really pleased how this sequence turned out, for a first try using AF-L (auto focus lock) for focusing, while I followed the bird in flight. Also first try with birding with my new camera.

Very nice shots. These are very sharp. They are good candidates for close cropping to place more value on the heron.
