Weary of waiting for an economic recovery worth its name, a frustrated American public has sent Barack Obama's job approval rating to a career low - with a majority in the latest ABC News/Washington Post poll favoring a Republican Congress to act as a check on his policies.
Obama's job approval rating, after a slight winter rebound, has lost 5 points among all adults since March, to 41 percent, the lowest of his presidency by a single point. Fifty-two percent disapprove, with "strong" disapproval exceeding strong approval by 17 percentage points. He's lost ground in particular among some of his core support groups.
Economic discontent remains the driving element in political views in this survey, produced for ABC by Langer Research Associates. Americans rate the condition of the economy negatively by 71-29 percent - the least bad since November 2007, but still dismal by any measure. Only 28 percent think the economy's improving, down by 9 points since just before Obama won his second term. He gets just 42 percent approval for handling it.
With this Congress polling the lowest results ever, with the false advertising put out agains the president's healthcare bill and the general misinformation going around about same, who could be high in the polls?

I was being nice about it DP and used "misinformation" instead of the word, "lies." But that's what they are, the Koch's lies concerning healthcare.

One of the things to consider when thinking about Presidential ratings is that there is a bias right from the start that will limit the top end of ratings to close to 50%. If you dig into the ratings, not just of this President, you will find that about 80% of a particular party will dislike a President of the opposite party no matter how well the President is doing, and 80% of the same as President party will poll with the President almost no matter what.
I just looked at the Gallup polls, and the ratings amongst Obama are 82% for Obama, while only 11% of Republicans are for Obama. What has changed during the past year or so is the Republican favorable rating has slipped from a range of 15-17% favorable to 11%. This makes up a good portion of the rating slip for Obama. The other is a decrease in favorables amongst Hispanics mostly over the fact that Obama is deporting a lot of Hispanics, in fact record numbers. So I am not surprised there is a bit of a slip there.
Now you've done it! You have used analytical methods to explain something and that just don't float with the bumper sticker crowd on this string.

Have you heard him speak lately with reporters. He cannot complete one sentence. Mumble, ah, bla and makes no sense.
When someone does not write it for him he is so lost. Worst of any Politician I can recall.
