Interesting article. Correct me, please, if I'm wrong, but I believe a petition only forces an issue to ballot which is then decided by the voters. When this happens in a way that overturns state congressional laws, then I believe the people have spoken, which, oddly enough, is what the politicos voted into office are supposed be doing for the voters. I think they call that representation. Problem is, too many "representatives" represent their own views rather than the people who put them in that position. I'd say that the people are doing more than "circumventing" the law making process; they're sending those law makers a message that their political future may be diminishing. Perhaps they need to start paying a little more attention. Good for the folks in Colorado. One state down and forty nine to go.
