I've been a Hedgehog stalker for a couple of months now. I must say that the pics you guys post are pretty intimidating. I have enjoyed shooting for years. Always had a P&S due to convenience (motorcycle trips, ATV rides, hiking etc.) and ignorance. My ignorance continues. Due to $$$ and giving consideration to the fact that I didn't know enough to justify spendiing more. I purchased a Panasonic G2 MILC. I have sooo much to learn. But I think I'm getting some decent shots. I can take it. Go ahead and tell me what you think.

These photos are quite good ! There's nothing ignorant about using a P & S. If you enjoy shooting on the go, then it's the best way to go. The main thing is to have fun. Keep posting.

Really like #1, would like it even better if that lovely piece of wood was sitting in my front yard.

Being intimidated by others' abilities is akin to being "shy." All it does is make you lose out on stuff. Yes, you do have to develop a thicker skin, but it is worth it. Nice photo! Keep it up and post more.

A couple of nice photos but (there had to be a but didn't there), #1 leans down to the right just a bit and they both look a touch overexposed.

If you don't have a polarizer that might be a good next purchase. That would have toned down the sky in #1 and helped the colors pop more in #2.

Still and all two good solid photos that just need a little tweaking, most of which could be handled in post processing.

Don't feel bad about using a P&S before you got your MILC, I still don't own an SLR or MILC, although the MILC's are very tempting...

Post more soon,

Eric

it's always a learning process. And we all need to keep a P&S around for those quick shots we may want to get.

Like the detail on the wood, But always Meter off the sky when shooting with so much sky in the background. The White clouds and Blue sky would have really popped instead of being blown out. That would have really made this a nice shot. Second photo I would crop out most of everything above the butterfly, Just my Opinion.

Great shots, don't be shy. We love seeing cool stuff.
I played with them in Windows Live Photo Gallery a bit.
Hope you don't mind. Although my bread and butter camera
is a DSLR, I have a Nikon Coolpix L20. It's both my "right
now" camera and my fence cheater. The small lens fits
through the small spaces. I don't invade people's yards, it's
for railroad photography.
