Iris with Back Lighting

Iris was shot at sunset on the patio with back lighting from a window. The banana shrub bloom is in the magnolia family and is only about an inch in diameter. One bloom can make an entire room smell like a ripe banana. One in my pocket makes ME smell like a ripe banana. Scott stole my thunder on the last one, since his is shot much better. :-D Fuzzy until downloaded.

I'm firmly in Linda's camp on this one. Number one is just breathtaking, Donna!!! What a fabulous shot, and one of which to be very proud. Guess your bananz shrubs can't survive this far north, as I've never seen one around here. Interesting flower.

Thanks so much, Randy. Not sure about the hardiness of the banana shrub. They've been old garden staples in these parts as far back as I can remember.

I don't believe I have ever seen as complete a work as art as your Iris. It sent me off to fantasyland in a heartbeat .... and I had the strangest thought that this was the first time I had ever seen purple northern lights. The whole effect is ineffable.
