The Trials of the Daffodil

I took these photos on April 16th, after an overnight frost and a little snow. This spring has been hard on my little patch of daffodils. Some made it, and some only opened part way. My tulips are looking good, though :)

Beautiful shots, despite the harsh conditions. At least you caught their emerging beauty and froze it in a photo, rather than snow and ice. nice job!!!

Most years, our daffodils open only to find temps near ninety degrees. They often wilt in a day. Hardly worth planting them, altho this year they've been quite nice so far with the continuing cool temps.

Oh what a shame about your daffodils, Lensbaby, but you made the best of the situation by capturing these beauties.

This series would do well in a contest with the subject "Frost - Cold - winter" If limited entries choice would be difficult.
