I've been lurking for a while and decided to join the crowd. I just recently got my first DSLR and feel overwhelmed (to put it mildly). I have a Nikon D3000 with the kit lens. I'm still trying to learn the camera. Wow! Who knew there were so many buttons and dials and settings? I hope to be able at some point in time to contribute, but in the mean time may be asking a lot of questions. Thanks ahead of time for your patience. I deperately want to learn how to do this, and I'm willing to put in the hard work to do it. Have a great day everyone.

Go for it Pam. The difference between an amateur and a professional is that the pro does not show you his outtakes.

In this case post anything and we can judge what you did right or wrong. Part is a good camera but most is have the "eye." I am trying to improve my ability to see "art".
