Backyard Flowers

I took these shots yesterday when it wasn't so windy. I am open to any critique or comments you might care to make to help me on my photographic journey. Thanks for looking at my photos.

Dennis I think your flower shots are as good as any I have
seen, what kind of flower is the last picture of? Just kidding.

I love when everything starts blooming. Esp after this past winter. First photo, I would crop a lot off the left, the second, I would crop off the right. For me, the extraneous space of the stems are distracting from the main flower. The last photo, I would like to increase the depth of field. It might be my eyes (I am developing cataracts), but the focus seems too soft.

Thanks for taking the time to look at my photos and for the comments. I agree with you about the cropping and did try to crop but my cropping tool only let's me do certain formats. When I cropped as you suggest I lost much of the flower. The last shot is a bit soft. I used an older Nikkor 80-200 on my D800 to try that lens. I also should have closed down the aperture for greater depth of field. It was a trial shot. I like the colors and composition but not the focusing.
