Password Managers

Any opinions on a good password manager? I've been using RoboForm for many years, but sometimes it doesn't recognize the spaces it has to fill in. That's probably the fault of the web site, but still, it doesn't help me at all.

Some sites require a capital, a character, and a number, while some just let you enter eight of anything. P/W managers can generate good passwords, but if they don't work, how can I remember something like Q4eyhnR#83mU - especially when I have a dozen or more words like that?

A couple of days ago, I switched to LastPass (free), and that seems to work pretty well, but it doesn't always fill in passwords. 1Password comes highly recommended, but it's not free, and if I buy it and don't like it, it's money wasted (potential lens money).

If all the sites used the same format, it would be easier for these managers to keep up.

Any opinions? (Boy, is that an unnecessary question! :D)

I did some research on this and downloaded and began using KeePass yesterday. It's free and seems to meet my needs very well--only need to memorize one password, sentence, or whatever.

Thanks. I'll look at both of these. I've found that you can't have two active Managers working at the same time. They fight with each other. :D

You can set Last Pass to auto login or not. Go into the lastpass vault, find the site you want and check the auto logon box. You can also set it to autfill so you can verify the login info,

I found that feature. I'll have to decide if I want autofill or autologon. I'd be willing to use any program that worked consistently. If it doesn't fill in the P/W, I have to look it up and enter it myself, and if it's good password, it's going to be something weird.

I think "a better one" is like getting a better camera. There is always something "better."

I've been using RoboForm for so long that I know it very well. It will take me time to get to know how to use LastPass. So far, it seems to be working, but I'll keep testing it. I think it's supposed to work on iOS and Android devices, so I'll have to try that, too.

Try taking a look at"S10". A free password manager that will log you into websites. I've used it for ages, and it works fine for me.

Have Lastpass set up on everyones pc at work since we use online services that have really strange passwords. Have had no problems in over a year.

Been using Lastpass for quite a while now and am satisfied. Just my 2 cents.
