A robot can only do what it's been programmed to do. So you would have to be able to think of every possible eventuality before it was sent.

It will never happen. AI still needs to be programmed. It may fool people for a while, but it will break down. The only thing that hasn't changed with computers in the last 20 years, is what we expect they will do in 20 years time.
