PSE12 - Default Settings

Somehow, in my infinite wisdom, I have managed to change the setting for saving a JPEG file. When saving a file the last screen offers "JPEG Options" and the values for "Image Options" are "Quality 3 Low."

I cannot find where or how to change this default value to "10 Maximum."

Thanks in advance for your help.

I am fairly new to photoshop I use 11/12/8 and cc and start class on lightroom 5 in a couple weeks, {sound impressive but it is not}, when I am done with my photo and "save" or "save as" it brings up the file to save it to. when I rename it I make sure it is the "format" I want it saved with,{jpeg, tiff, psd, etc} click on "save" then the "JPEG OPTION" box comes up I set the "image option" 0 to 12 then click "ok" , then it usually is on the setting I set from the last photo. {which is 12, I save all photos to 12} I may have misunderstood your question, hope this helped you

In the box Image Options, "Quality [3] Low" you will see a small downarrow on the right hand side of the Low button. Click it and select High or Maximum.
Or you can select the number 3 then type another number (up to 12) over it. Or you can grab the slider with your mouse cursor and drag it to the right.

Redhogbill and Morning Star,
I read your posts and re-read your posts. Nothing worked UNTIL I unchecked the preview box. Then it did save the settings from my last save.
Thanks for helping me out of the 'frustration box.' lol.

You're welcome, Al.
Strange though, I just checked and unchecked the Preview box, and the only difference it seems to make, is that with it checked, right below the word Preview, it will give the size of the (in kb or maybe mb) of the image to be saved.
The one box I cannot get to work is Matte: It is set at none and no matter what other combination of checks, options and/or radio buttons I choose, Matte stays at None and will not budge.
