Strange how the Netherlands is closing dozens of jails for lack of prisoners and we here can't seem to build enough. Says a lot about our legal system. Maybe our folks need to go and see how they do things, but God forbid the US government would ever ask for anybody's help.

Here in the good old USA we can't close jails because they're big business. That's right, run by for profit corporations and even though crime is down 40% in the last 20 years our prison population has never been higher and most of those in jail or in there for non-violent crimes like selling marijuana.

We have the highest per capita prison population in the world.

I don't think so, it was about the choice of weapon and against those who would gleefully call for gun control to stop the violence if the weapon was a gun. You see it proves the point that it isn't the weapon, its the intent. Canada's gun laws did little to protect these 5. It would be called another mass murder here... But they subscribe to Saul Alynsky's rule's #8 & #9.

Canada has a population less than that of California in about the same square mileage as the whole lower 48 …. thus we could waste time comparing apples and oranges all day on that front. Take out a few cities and we compare very well, as by and large, those outside US cities have more in common with Canadians… then they do with those living in our own cities.

We also have 10 millions more people then live in Canada on food stamps… imagine that… an entire country worth of food stamp recipients, and the number is growing... just as planned by those who truly benefit by them.
