Against advice from everybody, my daughter bought Win8 last month. It is her first computer & we all advised her to buy Win7, but a slick talking saleswoman talked her into Win8. I tried to help her with it, but it's like trying to learn Chinese. But, I know that I am not the sharpest knife in the drawer, especially with computers. However, I do know several people who are sorry they bought Win8, & am yet to hear of a satisfied customer. JMO. :-)

Seems like a non-issue to me.

I have it and like it. Works better with touch screen. I downloaded Start8
which will give you the start menu per Win7.

About time! I had to get Win8--nothing else was available--when I bought a new laptop last year. I hated it from the get-go; finally upgraded to 8.1 when that came out and the damn computer locked up, wouldn't even recognize the user name & password. I had to take to a local shop, have them remove Win8 & 8.1 and install Win7 Pro. I'm now a happy user except for having to pay another 1/3 of the computer cost because MS tried to force a smart phone program on computer users whose needs and uses are totally different.

the question now is weather or not to upgrade to 8.1-1! From the link on the review I think its a go for us as we are not using servers.
