Remember the Cold War? Lots of money spent on defense. Here's a strange one in ND. It cost $6,000,000,000, but it kept us safe while it was in operation. How long was it in operation? Three days. That works out to $2,000,000,000 a day.

Continue down toward the bottom of the page, and will see a similar one in England.

The billions wasted - which committee signed off on this debacle? The rebar and concrete wasted...at least the Egyptians were smart; used interstellar aliens to build the pyramids - no union contractors used. Egyptian pound hadn't been invented yet!

I hope this stuff ain't still classified, because I have no desire at my age to go to Leavenworth, KS for any reason. I was USAF. The pyramid in NDAK were active a lot longer that what was said here - and there were more of them, although several were destroyed, I know where at least two (in the CONUS) are still standing but terrifically weathered and run down. Another good post!

I've seen where some people have moved into the old missile silos and made them into homes.
