The quality is not that good but i got this shot this morning. Maybe an otter or in that family ??? He came out of the river - just out of the frame.
What Is It ????
Looks like a Mink to me. We don't have them down here (that I know of) so I haven't seen one in person. Cute photo.
Hey ! You almost got a fur coat...................

At first look I thought it was either a Martin, or a weasel. Then I noticed the little white chin patch on the critter, which leads me to believe that it is a Mink. That's my vote. Mink.8-)
definately a mink.they move fast! nice picture.
I'd put a trail-cam out, and bait the area with chicken parts,or beef scraps, just to try to get more pix of it. Now you know the area the critter hangs out in so it should be relatively easy. Or, if you really want more pix of it, set up a blind, bait the spot you saw it last, and wait. Of course I'm sure some of the folks will warn you to check local ordinances and whatnot. Good luck in your efforts  .8-)

Good idea - I will try that - very fast critter - maybe that will get it to stay long enough for a good photo op. Thanks to all. I don't have a trail cam but I do have a wireless remote and will get it that way.

I KNOW the baiting idea will work. Years ago during hunting season we'd toss scrap meat out onto a brush pile, and every day while we'd be cutting up the venison, a resident mink would wait to get the scraps. Of course, that was before digital cameras, but I have "Old fashioned" 35mm pix of it. Good memories. Good luck to you  8-)

Awesome & thanks - I have seen it in that same area of the river several times so "Bait" it is. I will get the picture.
Looking forward to seeing them. It's fun to out-smart the critters. Or maybe, they just tolerate us. 8-)
