Affordable Care Act enrollment

I heard on the news that Obama was touting that they had signed up something like 7 million people in Obamacare. Now that is signed up not necessarily that have paid any premiums. Considering the population of the US is about 310 million that means that 2.25% of the population has been enrolled during the open enrollment period if my math is correct. Can anyone explain to me why that should be something to crow about?

It isn't. I think it's bull. So far, everyone that I've talked to that has enrolled pays about the same as before but some of their prescription drugs cost more now.

Huey, who cares whether they paid their premiums, it's a bill, like any other bill. For god's sakes, you may hate this president, but the ACA is a law. It had a horrendous roll out but ppl like health insurance. Get over it, move on...

What do you mean who cares if they paid their premiums? If they haven't paid any premiums they really aren't part of the ACA except for trying to make the stats look better than they are. Bottom line is they are uninsured.

I mean what I said. It's a bill, like your auto insurance bill, if you don't pay, it will be dropped. Someone told me that they had to give their cc up front. I don't know but I pay my bills, do you? If they want to keep their health ins. they will keep up the payments. Moan about something else.

What I'm moaning about is that Obama is trying to make it sound like things are great rather than admit that the AHC Act simply has been and is a national disaster that we and our children are going to have to pay for. Again from what I have read there are more people who lave lost their health insurance because of the AHC than have gained coverage. And yes I pay my bills. When did you ever hear of somebody getting health insurance prior to AHC without paying their premiums up front?

It's called the ACA...Affordable Care Act. I know, the world is coming to an end. You hate this president. If the money is collected up front, you're against it and if it hasn't been billed yet, you're against it. Why don't you worry about it? SMH

I do not know where you get your news, but when I signed up for my Obamacare insurance, the insurance company's plan that I selected through the CoveredCA web site, asked me for a credit card for the first month's billing. After that I would get a paper or e-billing.

And how is it a national disaster that you and your children, who will be able to get health care regardless of preexisting conditions, portability, no lifetime cap AND other benefits, will have to pay for?

Get over it, you lost.

dljen the AHC stands for Assault Helicopter Company and is just a typo which considering huey driver's background is easily understandable. The ACA is a sad excuse for governance.

Given a couple years I think you'll see who really lost. The American public. Wait until your premiums double in a few years. Until they start paying claims for all the serious pre-x's they have no idea how this is going to play out.

...and you do know? Huey, if it's a poor law, it will be repealed in time, sure it's going to need tweaked, all huge laws do. Just accept it and be happy that ppl have health care.

Yep, it's such a great law that was voted on by a bunch of fools who most didn't read it and didn't know what was in it and then they set up fines to force people to buy it. I'm so proud of our government today.

Huey, You really need to let this go. If the Conservatives think they can win a national election by trying to repeal this law another 50 times, they're going to be disappointed.
It's just a waste of time to try to go back in time and repeal a law that was originally designed by Republican Conservatives just because Obama said it was good.
Give it up.

Figures don't lie but liars figure!

The 7.5 Million who enrolled did not previously have insurance or were sold bogus policies.

The entire nation was not uninsured prior to Obamacare.
