My first bald eagle

I have come across a bald eagle nest, on power line tower. I have limited access to the area, went back today and found one of the pair in a tree. I only have a 100 - 300 mm lens, so I am a bit limited for distance. This is my first try, I will be going back every day I can in the near future. I was so excited to even see a bald eagle in the wild, I did not pay much attention to the camera settings. I shot at F/4.1, 1/128sec., auto white balance, with a 100-300mm lens on a Canon T3i. Please let me know what you think? I did crop the photo, but did nothing else.

I would have cropped out most of the tree and centered" on the eagle. Alyn

I think you did a good job considering what you had to work with.

The photo is overexposed, but given the distance to the subject, the lighting, AND the setting, this is probably as good as it gets for this set of factors.

Much better ! in fact a bit too much ! Viewers will want to see the bird, not the tree. (at least this one does.) Alyn
